The OncoHelp Association is a non-profit NGO that was founded in 2005 by a group of oncologists: Dr. Negru Şerban, Dr. Oprean Cristina, Dr. Sîrbu Daniela, with the goal to promote and support any kind of activity that might help those people suffering from cancer and which does not contravene the medical ethics and the legislation in force.

As it is destined for charitable actions, the main objective of the association is represented generally by raising funds for cancer care services necessary for diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. The activity of the OncoHelp Association is supported by a multidisciplinary team that has constantly shown commitment and availability.

Volunteering is another feature of our association. During the 7 years of activity, we offered the volunteers the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the suffering patients, through sharing artistic, intellectual and emotional knowledge.

In order to achieve its objectives, the OncoHelp Association started many projects over the past three years, including:
● Establishment of the OncoHelp Oncology Centre for the patients with specific pathology, a project with more than 100 sponsors, the main sponsors being: Avon Cosmetics Romania, Rotary Club Cetate and Asociaţia Femeilor Antreprenori din Timisoara (Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Timisoara).
● Establishment of the Support Group of the Patients with Breast Cancer Dorinţa, which aims to organize activities that are a real support to people in distress.
● Psychological Counselling and individual and group psychotherapy for the patients of the OncoHelp Oncology Centre, as well as for their families.
● Promotion of the campaign Find out you're all right! in partnership with Avon Cosmetics România in the large factories in Timişoara and in the surrounding area, regarding the early detection of breast cancer.
● Frequent meetings with the family physicians, for their education in the field of oncologic prophylaxis.
● Promoting a healthy life style in schools in Timişoara through annual meetings with high school pupils of the classes IX-XII.
● Press conferences, in which information about the necessity of implementing programmes for early detection of cancer have been made public.

The OncoHelp Association works actively together with the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance in order to unconditionally support the patients with cancer in Romania.

The OncoHelp Association also is a member of the Federation of the Associations of Cancer Patients in Romania (FACP).

As a representative of the cancer patients, the OncoHelp Association takes part annually at several events, such as:
● The Global Day of Fight Against Cancer,
● Th Day of Cancer Survivors, which takes place every year in Brasov, and which is organised by the FACP,
● The Conference of Cancer Patients, which takes place every year in Brasov, and which is organised by the FACP.
